Wendy Wheeler

Biography
Wendy is making her Civic debut as Musical Director, with this production, but she is not new to the Civic, having taught for our Academy of Theatre Arts and performed in the orchestra for Legally Blonde, the Musical. Recently, Wendy served as Musical Director for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Wedding Singer for Comstock's Center Stage Theatre. Wendy's resume includes a variety of educational programs, theater work in many venues, and almost 20 years of private vocal and piano instruction. Her performance experience includes work with the Saginaw Bay Orchestra (Saginaw, MI), Midland Music Society (Midland, MI), Pit & Balcony Theatre Company (Saginaw, MI), Rome (Italy) Festival Opera, and What-A-Do Theatre Company (Battle Creek, MI). Her roles have included Marian, the Librarian in The Music Man, Lily in The Secret Garden, Tuptim in The King and I, Gladys in Radio Gals, and Josephine in HMS Pinafore. Wendy holds a BA from Saginaw Valley State University and earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from WMU. Although Wendy has yet to perform on the Civic stage, her son, Nick, has by way of the summer theater camp of 2010, where he was privileged to meet and work with Stephen Schwartz.
