THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

UPDATED: August 28, 2022

COVID-19 Response: The Academy of Theatre Arts continues to monitor and evolve our response to COVID-19 as we learn more from the Centers for Dieses Control and Prevention and our local Department of Health. At this time, we require masking in the building at times when the CDC shows the County Transmission rate to be High. To read our most current practices, please visit our COVID-19 Response page.

Inclement Weather: Should we need to close due to poor driving conditions, we will post a notice on WWM TV 3. To sign up for text alerts please choose Kalamazoo Civic Theatre. We will also send emails to our class lists. In the event that a class needs to be canceled, we will make every effort to offer a makeup session, often by extending the series by a week.

Grades: Where Summer classes/camps are listed by grades levels, please register for the grade the student will be entering in the fall. Preschool students should be at least 3 years of age and able to use the restroom independently.

Ages: Where classes/camps are listed by ages, please register for the program that matches your age on the first day of class.

Behavior Expectations: We ask that our students follow two simple rules: Kindness First and Safety Always! We encourage students to welcome challenges and to try something new.

Packed Lunches: Students in all day camps will need to bring a packed lunch each day. We cannot provide refrigeration or microwaves for the students.

Water Bottles: Students are encouraged to bring water bottles to class. We will provide opportunities for bottle refilling throughout classes

Clothing: Students are asked to wear close toed shoes that do not kick off easily during classes and camps. Clothing should be chosen for comfort and movability. If a class has more specific requirements, that information will be included in the email sent out the week prior to class start.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, we will refund 100% of your fees if we are notified of the cancellation at least 72 hours prior to the first class/camp day. We are unable to issue refunds on or after the first class day.
We reserve the right to cancel a class/camp due to low enrollment. Should this occur, you will receive a full refund.
