Civic Youth Theatre Play

Ramona's life is a mess! Her teacher hates her, her older sister Beezus is a pain, it looks like her favorite Aunt Bea could marry a dork, and now Dad just lost his job. Growing up is NOT easy. But you'll laugh and cheer Ramona and the Quimby's on as they stick together through it all. Ramona's older sister Beezus narrates, introducing us to the Quimby family and friends, and setting the scene for a collection of vignettes that trace Ramona's tumultuous passage through third grade and family relationships. Life may not always be fair, but Ramona and Beezus come to realize that sisters can be good to have around.

The Civic Youth Theatre is designed to introduce young patrons to theatre as an art form. Students involved in a production learn very quickly that it takes a lot of hard work to put on a show. They memorize lines, paint scenery and collect props, all while they are building friendships and developing self-confidence that will last them a lifetime.
