Lou Price is a local actor who has performed on most stages in the area as well as local commercial and film work, earned his theater degree from Western Michigan University, and has taught and directed drama for over 35 years. He has been featured on the Farmers Alley stage as Dr. Lyman Hall in 1776, Mr. Mushnik in Little shop of Horrors and Salty Jim in Escanaba in Love. Recently, he was in Children of Eden as Father in The Kindleberger Summer Festival, Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor and Prospero in The Tempest at The Celery Flats Shakespeare Festival, and in the Kalamazoo Civic's Lend Me a Tenor, as Tito, and Big Daddy in Tennessee William's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof for which he was nominated for the Kalamazoo Civic's Excellence in Performance award. Lou received the Civic's Excellence in Performance award for his portrayal of Tevye, the milkman, in Fiddler on the Roof. He has played dozens of lead and supporting roles in plays and musicals over a 35 year career in local theatre, as well as directed dozens more. When not on stage or in the classroom, you'll find Lou on his motorcycle, at the beach, or with his two grandsons.
