Shannon O'Bryan's Bio : The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre

Shannon O'Bryan

Shannon O Bryan is thrilled to be joining The Civic family for the first time for Disney's Descendants. She is so incredibly proud of this incredible cast and crew who have brought this show together so quickly. Shannon is first and foremost the proud Mother of Indigo Anand and Jai Gabriel and partner to the one and only wonder that is the Director and Co-Choreographer, Nick Dalton. Shay, as her beloveds call her, has been seen on the Broadway stage in 42nd Street and White Christmas; Off-Broadway in shows such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, On The Town, Pipe Dream, Of Thee I Sing, Face The Music, and more. She has performed in multiple National Tours, dozens of Regional Theatres, and internationally. Some of her favorite roles include Peggy Sawyer (in 10 productions of 42nd Street); Judy Haynes (in 7 productions of White Christmas); Sandy Dumbrowski (Grease); Dainty June (Gypsy); Leslie Carron/Mimi (American in Paris); and Ivy Smith (On The Town) to name a few. Shay, however, is now finding that perhaps her most favored role in show business may be choreographing. She has choreographed many productions over the years including Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, Crazy For You, Cinderella, The Maya Project and many more. She has taught in dozens of different dance studios and at conventions around the country. Shay can also be found teaching Yoga and Meditation around the globe and supporting Mother's and families through the magic of childbirth and beyond as the "Dancing Doula". Shannon would like to thank The Civic family for making her feel so welcomed to this new Kazoo community and for giving her the great gift of working with this amazing Youth Theatre Team.

"I cannot wait to continue to cheerlead every single one of you in the future!"
