Barbara B. Moelaart
Resident Costume Designer
Barbara has made a life's work of costuming Community Theatre. Though her work has appeared at renaissance festivals all over the country, in dance competitions at the national level and at a White House Reception, live theatre remains Barbara's first love. She began designing costumes at 13 and continued through volunteering and then working full time at the Croswell Opera house in Adrian, Michigan. Barbara taught costuming at Whitman College in Washington State for several years before she returned to her native Michigan to become the Resident Costume Designer at The Civic. Some of her favorite productions at the Civic include: Guys and Dolls, Cats, Ragtime, the Musical, Chicago and Disney's Beauty and The Beast.
