AnnMarie Miller (she/her)
Director of Education and Outreach
As a former Civic Intern, AnnMarie describes joining the Civic Staff in 2012 as a "professional coming home." She received her undergraduate degrees in both Theatre Design and Education from Western Michigan University and a MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. AnnMarie worked in Educational Administration in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area. An advocate for inclusive practices both in the classroom and in the community, she believes embracing differences and removing barriers is the foundation of strong, empathic, creative communities. AnnMarie was the Lighting and Sound Designer for the Kalamazoo Civic for 8 years and has also designed for The Barn Theatre and toured as a Stage Manager/Lighting Director. The Civic Theatre, with its mission to provide hands-on learning experiences for all in all aspects of theatre production and management is, for her, the perfect blending of these passions.
