Kevin Hopp
Biography
Kevin auditioned first at the Civic for War Paint in 2019 and was cast in the ensemble. Then he played Walter Hobbs, his favorite role so far, in Elf the Musical at Christmas of 2019. "This was my favorite show because it was a holiday show and I had never been in a holiday show. It was such a great time to sing and dance in the various numbers and to watch the rest of the cast. We had and had such great performers at the Civic and I love working with all of them."
He is happy to have honed his acting skills at the Civic. Kevin's most recent appearance for the Civic was in the virtual production of The Tempest in 2021. He also liked being cast as Professor Callahan in Legally Blonde, The Musical at the KMC Onstage Theatre in Germany. This season, Kevin will be trying his hand as Assistant Stage Manager for the Senior Class Readers Theatre production of Leaving Iowa. Originally from Troy, MI, Kevin has called Kalamazoo his home for 3 and a half years. Kevin and his wife, Melinda, have 2 children, JC and Jade. If not at the theatre, he enjoys watching movies, running, biking, home improvement, drinking good beer and hanging with his family and friends.
