Education For Grades 5 to 8
The world of theatre offers older students limitless possibilities! It s a world wherein campers can explore their ideas, work collaboratively and try new things! Programming for this group focuses on creative engagement, artistic exploration and self-expression. Participants are encouraged to be active in setting goals and meeting challenges for each class week.
TECH CAMP
JUNE 21-25; CAMP FEE: $300 (Includes Supplies)
MONDAY - FRIDAY 9:00-4:30
Tech Camp introduces students to traditional stagecraft skills used in the non-performance side of theatrical production. During this course, teens will participate in a variety of hands-on projects using tools of the trade as they develop stage carpentry, scenic painting, costume building and lighting skills.
SKILLS CAMPS: Monday - Friday 9:30-4:30
Developing skills that can be applied across theatre genres such as vocal exercises, improvisation, diction, movement and dance will fill the morning portion of the skills camp. The focus shifts to collaboration and application in the afternoons as the camp members learn a short script and movement pieces designed to put their new skills into practice.

This week focuses on the voice and its power to convey ideas with clarity and diction. Additionally, students will explore the use of traditional Foley sound effect methods as they put their skills into practice in a radio play. - PERSEPHONE; JULY 19-23; CAMP FEE: $250
Demeter, Persephone, Zeus and more will come to life in the classroom as students work together to tell their tale in a way that is engaging and meaningful to today's world. - PROCRASTINATION PROBLEMS; JULY 26-30; CAMP FEE: $250
Comedic timing and physicality will be our skills focus as students work together, applying what they learn to the zany script, Milli Vanilli Orchestra.

- REGARDS TO BROADWAY; AUGUST 2-13; PERFORMANCE AUGUST 14; CAMP FEE: $550
Celebrate Broadway musicals past and present while acting, singing and dancing your way through a musical revue that will be performed in the Parish Theatre at the end of this two-week camp. While rehearsing numbers from blockbusters like Gypsy, Kiss Me Kate, Ragtime and The Wiz campers will also learn a bit about the history and evolution of American musical theatre. - SHAKESPEARE IN SUMMER; AUGUST 16-20; PERFORMANCE AUGUST 21; CAMP FEE: $275
Shakespeare isn't scary! This performance camp will focus on how to read, understand and perform Shakespeare s text. Campers will explore the Bard s language, stories, characters and themes while preparing a capstone project composed of scenes and monologues to be performed in the Parish Theatre.
*Campers will be joined by 3rd-4th grade students for the performance. Each group will have unique performance opportunities within the musical revue style production.
