Education For Grades 4 to 8
Unless otherwise noted, classes are in person. Acting Essentials - Improv
Thursdays 4:30-6:00; Jan 21-Mar 4
Improvisation skills - are life skills! Students will build skills in choice making and learn to adjust to the circumstances on the go. On stage, this skill allows the actor to make a character choice and carry it out; in real life, it allows us to make a decision with conviction. As the best improv is not done alone, students will practice communicating with their scene partner using subtle cues; off stage this skill is essential for working harmoniously with others.
Dance Essentials - Jazz Technique
Mondays 4:30-6:00; Jan 25-Mar 8
Work your body and build memorization skills and take creative expression to the next level as you learn the basic techniques of jazz dance. The fast-paced dance style uses the whole body to respond to the music in combinations given by the teacher. An exciting way to build strength, balance and confidence while reducing stress!
Lighting for the Theatre

Dive inside the world of theatrical lighting by exploring basic lighting theory and working alongside the professionals in our lighting department. Learn to read a light plot then use that knowledge to install the lights in our Parish Theatre and prepare them for use.
