Biography

Doug has been actively involved with the Southwest Michigan music and theatre scene for the past 18 years. Beginning at Mendon Community Schools, Doug was the one-man leader of the K-12 music and drama programs, where he successfully staged the productions of Oliver, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Seussical, Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, and more. Continuing his music directing, Doug became involved with Center Stage Theater in Kalamazoo in 2016 working with casts of close to 100 on The Addams Family, Annie, and Willy Wonka. Doug earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Science in Education degree from Walden University. Most notably, he is a graduate of the world-renowned Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, MI, where he trained under the instruction of today's leading educators in the Fine Arts. Doug is very excited to make his Civic debut with this production of The Civic in Song:1929-2018!
