Grade 1 to 2 : The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre

Education For Grades 1 to 2

Our camps are designed to ignite imagination with a little bit of theatre magic! Classes will transform with each camp theme providing a creative space for the campers to explore, move, and challenge their acting and memorization skills.

TECH CAMP JR: JUNE 21-25; CAMP FEE: $150 (Includes Supplies)
MONDAY - FRIDAY 10:15-12:15 AM
Campers will explore the technical areas of theatre including lighting, sound, scenery and properties as they work together to bring the children's book, Thank You Omu! to life. This delightful story helps students discover that, sharing is a lot like giving thanks, they both bring people together.

*Late Pick up is not available for this camp week.

A dynamic assortment of children's literature, specifically chosen to enhance each week's theme, will be used to weave together explorations, lessons and creations. The day will be divided into small, child friendly lengths of focused time, moving from acting, to dancing, to theatre crafts and back as youth learn new skills and have the opportunity to apply them in mini-performance showcases.

PERFORMANCE CAMP: Monday - Friday 9:00-4:00; Performance on Saturday

*Campers will be joined by PS-K grade students for the performance. Each group will have unique performance opportunities within the musical revue style production.
