Biography

Emily is the Director of Theatre Arts Management in the Department of Theatre at Western Michigan University. She and her husband moved to Kalamazoo 7 years ago from New York City where she served as General Manager of Off-Broadway's Zipper Theater. Prior to that, Emily served as the General Manager of The Art Party, a not-for-profit theatre company founded by Alan Cumming and Nick Philippou. Her career in the arts started on-stage as a ballroom dancer, singer and theatre artist. She performed professionally with the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, in regional theatre and in the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show before transitioning to a career in Arts Management. Some of her favorite stage opportunities include The Last Night at Ballyhoo, Crazy For You, Falsettos, The Music Man, Lend Me A Tenor and See How They Run. She is a proud graduate of Musical Theatre from Wright State University and serves on the Board of Directors for the Kalamazoo Art League. She has three amazing little boys and an equally amazing husband.
