Covid-19 Protocols : The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre

Covid-19 Response Plan

UPDATED: January 5, 2022

We hope you are enjoying a joyous and healthy start to the new year. With the new year comes a continued focus on the safety and well-being of our Civic Community. While we wish to continue to offer the live entertainment and educational experiences you enjoy at the Civic, we are committed to do so as safely as possible and to do our part to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. To that end, please review our updated COVID-19 Response Plan prior to any visit to the Civic.

MASK POLICY: Masks are required in all our facilities, regardless of vaccination status. This includes our performers during performances.

VACCINE POLICY: We are proud to be a 100% vaccinated workforce. Anyone over the age of 11 participating in our programs and productions are required to be fully vaccinated. Also, all patrons over the age of 11 must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to join us. Patrons, upon arrival, are required to show us their original card, a photocopy or digital image of the card, or a secure health wallet app, combined with a photo id. For children ages 12 to 18 who are attending with a parent/legal guardian, no photo id is required.

HEALTH SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE AND TEMPERATURE CHECKS: For patrons attending a performance, we are no longer conducting temperature checks. There is a health screening questionnaire posted at each entrance to the theatre that you must read. If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, or are feeling unwell, we ask that you do not enter the facility and that you call the box office for an exchange or refund.

For those participating in our Academy of Theatre Arts or who are coming to the Civic for rehearsal or a meeting, we are continuing to conduct temperature checks and health screenings upon arrival. Again, if you are not feeling well, or if you are exhibiting any symptoms associated with COVID-19, we kindly ask that you remain at home.

HAND SANITIZING: Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout our facilities and at the entrances to each venue. In addition, our Academy schedules time for frequent hand washing and sanitizing.

SEATING AND SOCIAL DISTANCING: Seating for productions in the Civic Auditorium is assigned seating. We assign seats in a way that allows us to ensure proper distancing between groups of audience members. To achieve this, we also reserve the right to move your seats as necessary. On the night of your performance, you may pick up your tickets at Will Call, and an usher can assist you to your seat. If you prefer to have your tickets mailed to you, we will send them two weeks before your performance. For special accommodations, such as a wheelchair space, stair-free access, or seats near the ASL interpreters, please email or call the Box Office at (269) 343-1313, and we will be happy to help you.

Seating for the Parish Theatre and the Carver Center Studio are always General Admission. Ushers will make every attempt to honor seat selections while maintaining social distancing.

REFUND AND EXCHANGE POLICY: We offer a flexible refund and exchange policy in the event you are unable to attend due to illness or quarantine.

PROGRAMS AND CONCESSIONS: We are offering an abbreviated program for each production, with a QR code to download a digital, detailed program.

Until further notice, we are not offering concessions.

Given the ever-changing situation, our policies and protocols are subject to change without notice. We encourage you to visit our website for our most up to date COVID-19 Response Plan.
