Biography

Jake Burrell (he/him) is proud to be making his debut with the Kalamazoo Civic in the role of Yvan. He is currently studying Cisco Networking at KVCC. His pronouns are He/Him. His favorite role to date was as Gus in Anything to Give, Center Stage Theatre's submission to the Theatre Kalamazoo New PlayFest 2020. He was born in Kalamazoo and has lived there most of his life. Some past credits include Prince/Wolf in Snow White and Rose Red (All Ears Theatre (2019)), Mitchell in Of Masquerade and Rhymes (Queer Theatre Kalamazoo (2019)), Officer Slager in A Ligature for Black Bodies (Face Off Theatre Company (2019)), Poverty Gentleman #2, Catherine's Husband and The Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol (Paw Paw Village Players (2019)), Announcer in Some DIS-Enchanted Evening (Center Stage Theatre (2020), Dad #1 in Before the Shooting (Queer Theatre Kalamazoo (2020)). Jake was inspired to start acting and auditioning after hearing an inspiration quote by Steve Harvey. He said, "If you want to be successful, you have to jump, there's no way around it. When you jump, I can assure you that your parachute will not open right away. But if you do not jump, your parachute will never open. If you're safe, you'll never soar!"
