Honus and Me
Civic Youth Theatre Play
Joey Stoshack loves baseball. It's unfortunate that he is so bad at it. But he still loves the game, and he loves collecting the cards. Magical things begin to happen to the Little Leaguer when he finds the most valuable baseball card in the world-the T-206 Honus Wagner. Set in contemporary Pittsburgh, Honus and Me is filled with baseball lore and time travel with a twist. It transports the legendary Honus Wagner to the present and takes Joey-and the audience-to the thrilling 1909 World Series between Ty Cobb's Detroit Tigers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. The confidence and self-esteem Honus helps Joey discover in himself is a gift that withstands the test of time. Families, baseball fans, and those who love an unexpected tale will be enchanted by this surprising new play.
