There are 2 Costume Design Interns in the Costume Department, one 12-month and one 9-month position. Each position will have the opportunity to design up to 6 productions a season. Under the supervision of the Resident Costumer, the Intern is also expected to act as a stitcher, cutter, draper, and wardrobe assistant as needed on their own and the remaining productions in our season. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in pattern drafting, draping, and tailoring. It also helps to further sewing skills and increase the Intern’s knowledge of costume history. In addition to working in the costume shop, the Intern will train and supervise a crew of students age 9 – 18 who work on our Youth Theatre Productions. These students will not only help build the show, but also serve as its running crews for costumes, hair and makeup.
