Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced thespian, our engaging lessons are designed to welcome everyone and assist you on your journey to becoming the best performer you can be!

Performance Camps

Our theatrical camps are performance-focused and designed to help campers grow theatre skills, meet new friends, and boost confidence. These camps are an amazing opportunity for budding performers to try new things and showcase their talents on the Civic Auditorium stage.

Audition Workshops

The Academy of Theatre Arts is thrilled to present free Audition Workshops for each production of the season. Led by the production’s artistic team, these workshops provide participants with a chance to familiarize themselves with the audition material. Additionally, personalized tips and feedback are offered during the session. Registration for these workshops opens two months prior to each event. Please note, dates are subject to change based upon staff availability.

The workshops cover the performers audition only – they may include information but not instruction about crew opportunities.

Financial Assistance

We believe that finances should never hinder a student’s pursuit of their passion. To support this belief, we are delighted to provide partial scholarships for students of all ages.

Things to Know

Inclement Weather

Should we need to close due to poor driving conditions, we will post a notice on WWM TV 3. To sign up for text alerts please choose Kalamazoo Civic Theatre. We will also send emails to our class lists. In the event that a class needs to be canceled, we will make every effort to offer a makeup session, often by extending the series by a week.

Behavior Expectations

We ask that our students follow two simple rules: Safety First and Kindness Always! We encourage students to welcome challenges and to try something new.
